It's honestly a stupid question. Who cares what we prefer? As long as Mafuyu (and Uenoyama) is happy then I'm happy.
No lie, Yuki really did love Mafuyu though but he has Uenoyama to support him now.

to add to the other comments, I'm also on the team that moves on. will not deny the relationship mafuyu had with yuki but he's dead and dwelling on the past will only cause him heartache and guilt
