I think the emoji faces she makes are supposed to be amusing, but I dont like them using her as a punching bag for comedy relief all the time (it happens a lot with female leads in shoujo) passing off any anger or annoyance she feels off as comedic, it make it harder to take her seriously.

Of course not at all times dude. Agreed with how some shoujo pass off serious things as comic relief. I think it's appropriate here though, because technically, she's just a subordinate who needs to do the bidding of the duke.

I just cant help but feel if the lead genders/positions were reversed and the dude was being treated like that by the girl. teased (insult to ego) made to carry around her baggage and submit to every unreasonable whim on order (if he doesnt want to) people would find her unlikable and go on to say she's treating him badly lol xD

Well in that case we have a different target audience then hahahah xD. (Dun dun dun... people who like femdom).

I do like how this manga doesn't avoid her position as a woman. On other shoujo, there would always be convo or scenes like: "oh no she's a girl, musn't let her carry heavy things" and the like.

Totally agree, was thinking the same thing while reading. A male lead is pretty much never endeared to fans through such infantilization. Saying she’s strong and independent constantly via text doesn’t mean anything when you constantly undermine it with subtext. And strong female leads often fall into this context where they really aren’t taken that seriously and are fallen for as the male lead sees her “femininity” poke through.
