On my own understanding, I think satsuki fell in luv with chihaya and not really in ushio bit just an excuse that he like ushio, and idk if chihaya really likes kaede not sure on that part but while analyzing the whole story of them I can say for my own perspective that he likes chihaya and thats why when ushio and satsuki do it and satsu cry because I think he is thinking of chihaya and I think ushio realize it that the person satsuki like is chihaya thats why he said “ forget the idiot who refuses to fall in luv w/u” because if u think about if he really want to end up with ushio he should tell him right away than ask chihaya who satsuki really like.
