I like the story n all but

I rly wish they’d focus more on the whole witch powers thing. There’s moments where Kate randomly uses magic (like when she literally put Ian’s hand on fire lol) or that whole thing w hearing the guy asking for help n she doesn’t even question it?? N then she goes back to worrying whether Ian likes her or not as if nothing happened

Idk I just think it’d make more sense for her to spend more time figuring out how tf she’s using magic n how to control it so she doesn’t accidentally expose herself n get arrested, it could also lead to clues about her family too

i was just thinking that. i feel like the author sometimes just glosses over very important things.

like when ian almost pushed her down the stairs - he basically almost tried to kill her but the next day she was fine and didn't even treat him differently. or how when they first discovered she was a witch, she didn't once after that wonder about it again or questioned it.

it's very jarring in the story when characters don't react accordingly, and i really do like the story a lot! i wish it didn't bother me so much :(

Imo the magic itself is a bit jarring at times, like it was inserted just for a more fantastical feel...
The story would probably flow differently if magic didn’t exist and focused maybe more on a talent (like Kate having a Sherlock-esque ability or somethin)....... honestly would be down for that
