I think he's worried the curse might show up and bounce back to the prince or that the curse will show up later down the line. My issue is that his conscious was cleared instead of spending those years looking to relieve the curse from Ale. He just pass it on and stopped thinking about it. It would have popped up again with his grand children
Same I understood doing it for your kid and all but the utter lack of remorse he felt.....theres something wrong with that man. Imagine standing in front of that adorable 3 year old and passing on a excruciating curse to him without the blink of an eye
But let's all be real. Who wouldn't do anything for their kid when they find out that their time will run out painfully?
