I think it slowly turned into the result of daddy issues. We see her father aint shit and weak, gunner is the polar opposite. To her gunner is the father she was suppose to have ig. He keeps her under a nice house, he has ambition, and gets shit done despite the odds. Ig the whole sex trafficking is dirt under the rug. To the mc he has to be gunner just... better? To get her attention which to me is a bitch move

So basically he's doing all of this for the attention to one girl? I know Mia is with Gunner because she needed protection from bullies, but they aren't in highschool anymore.
