Well everything in this has kind of shocked me a little bit...
The cousin does seem apologetic, yet I expected more anger from Kaede (something like "I know you did it with good intentions, but fu$& of, don't do it again", at the very least)
And that "romantic scene" between a comotose wolf and Kaede kind of shocked me a little.
I think that since they are going to go on... They should at least start all over again, somewhere else. I don't know what to think anymore!! (desperate) (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Agreed with absolutely everything you said. My thoughts exactly.
So much understanding and sacrifice. And it isn't like this whole time Kaede wasn't trying to communicate. Ren just never opened up til the end. And knowing that this marriage is truly for Ren's benefit. Like so, Ren knows he could permanently transform into a wolf without this marriage and he was still that grumpy about it? How ungrateful. Seems like a decent enough exchange. The rabbits get food, and the wolf gets to keep his humanity. Kaede was the only one out of the loop.
It is sad, I feel like their closeness was manufactured by the misunderstanding. Kaede thought that Ren had started to take care of him, which emboldened him to ask for more. They wouldn't have the start of a decent relationship if the cousin hadn't done what he did. Which is super fucked up.
And the finisher was having his official first time be with a comatose Ren in wolf form. All to save Ren. Who has done little on his own accord to deserve such compassion.
At least the cousin seemed remorseful....ugh
