seeing this reminds me of the fact that the only real detriment of corsets is that it makes your back muscles go to shit. because it holds you up in place of your muscles, so when you remove the corset, you'll have nothing but your shrivelled back muscles to hold you up so it's gonna hurt like hell.

yes it does. I forgot who was the actress that said it but I remember that someone famous was on Stephen Colbert's show (I think ? because I watch a lot of talk shows) and she said her internal organs shifted all over the place which makes sense because if there is no room for something, it isn't just going to shrink, it needs to go elsewhere

only if it's done too tight. it shouldn't be too tight, and a major reason why people think women in their old days wore their corsets too tight all the time is because most of the surviving corsets were what rich women wore on their weddings, which would naturally be tighter because ~beauty~. the modern equivalent would be super high heels. everyday corsets would be more supportive and less restrictive. of course, i am what one would refer to as a third hand source. please watch this video ( https://youtu.be/rExJskBZcW0) for a take that is both more eloquent and researched than mine.
^this in no way means i want to go back to wearing corsets. regular bras with underwire are bad enough that i only wear pure cloth and elastic sports bras, if i even do.

Ah, I see. Thank you very much for this. Turns out I was very misinformed.
