Ugghh, that’s a little insensitive of her. She could have introduced him as a young friend or a relative but an acquiantance is a bit .... ah well that’s just me.

    Younger acquaintance is Dongsaeng in korean and that is the usual way to refer to anyone younger than you, they only call friends those who are same age it is difficult to translate it word by word
