She does end up with the Emperor though.They even have children together. She wanted to leave the Palace after her revenge on the concubne was complete but he did eveything in his power to stop her.

The one who did not end up with the Emperor is the sister. She achieved her dream of being in a good marriage with someone she love. As for the FM and the ML, it seems that his sad past and the fact that he is not always a moron (he did not punish her when she had to put the concubine in her place because she was going to cause a war, even if he was close to) was enought to make their relationship better overtime.
i would love that ending, i wouldnt be happy if she is with the emperor
