
yes, it is in france and in the orient. I am turkish, and we do "kiss" each other on the cheeks. Like the french, just touching the cheeks of each other. Depending on how close you are, you either just mimic the touch, actually touch or do really graze them with your lips and hug instead of shoulder patting. Only friends or family greet each other kissing here in europe in some countries (UK, Germany, Russia, Italy etc.). But not strangers dude. In no country that I know of anywhere ( may be native tribes), do they kiss a stranger on the mouth as a greeting, or intimately touch each other ( I had mangas, where they were touched on the butt, hugged tight, kissed on other places or one where they even had sexual contact and the asian thought it is a greeting and never thought about it being sexual intent)....like dude....wtf?
