Wait. Like like-like? I thought he was giving her extra attention because theyre super friends and Perrat has always been fond of formal wear so he thinks Vasser would like it too.
I didn’t notice it until this recent chapter but then I went back and reread everything and it’s so obvious
Perrat most likely likes Vasser because she changed their lives for the better and because of her personality. I'll explain:
At first he hated her for ruining Kyle's life. But then she almost died and proved to him that she was on their side. She kept doing everything she could to help and she does have a very likeable personality. I think one of the reasons Perrat likes Vasser is because she, like him, would put her life on the line to help the Prince. And that she is strong willed and hard working. She is also pretty optimistic and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say she brought hope to them.
From the looks of it, before Vasser came along they had already resigned to their broken castle and bad situation. Plus all of the servants were there for Kyle, but he was never the kind to ask for help or confide in anyone. He just demanded stuff and kept moving forward no matter what. Vasser's appearance gave them hope and slowly made Kyle open up.
So to Perrat Vasser protected his Prince and helped him open up a little. She made Perrat's life better, gave them hope and a goal. So it makes some sense to my why he would like her. But I think he should give up. He must be blind not to see that Kyle and Vasser like each other. And that's not gonna end well.
