I didn't read the last chapters of the novel. I stopped reading after the chapter about Hugh building his daughter a doll house or whatever. But your comment makes me want to go read the rest now.

the story where Damien died happened when Lucia had not married the duke. It was the alternate reality that happened in Lucia’s “dream”. She prevented it from happening when she married the Duke and not sold to marry of the abusive Count Matin.
You might be confusing two Evangeline. First Evangeline that got pregnant is Lucia’s mother, the Evangeline that had his friend Jude banned from entering the duke’s house is Lucia’s daughter. It is two different stories. Lucia’s mother was not forced to marry, she didn’t want to marry as she wanted to pursue her own love. She ran away from home (she is also a duke’s daughter) unfortunately for her she met the lecherous king and had Lucia.
Baby Evangeline (lucia’s daughter and hue) will never be forced to marry anyone. Damien woudn’t allow it, the duke and lucia won’t allow it lol

What you said is almost right. The Evangeline, that is older and got pregnant, is not Lucias mother. She is the mother of the founder of, Lucias mother and grampa, house. This side story is the back story of how the necklace that save Lucia, bay letting her go to the past and relive her life. Or ,depending how you see the story, Have the dream of the alternate reality where she, Lucia maries the count. Got made. More specifically is the story of how that necalec got his power.
The side story were Damien dies, that is what hapens in the reality of the dream, is fouled by another that is very sewet. In that one we see Lucia much older, living in a little house, Its what hapend to Lucia before she died, in the dream. Because we don´t realy know what hapens in her old age. This is that story.
In her old age she meets a man. ho just came backs from war. that men is Hugo, that has just abandoned his position as duck after killing all the barbarians as revenge for them killing Damien. They fall in love and live happily ever after.
You should reread those chapters. Because you didnt' get alot of stuff.

So side story 1: tells about Damien’s future.
Side story 2: what happened to Hugo(no Lucia)
Side story 3: tells about their daily life in a distant future. The family addition (bruno)and a sneak peek of the relationship of the children :)
Side story 4: lucia and hugo moments. this was when Evangeline had a tantrum because she thought her family banned Jude to visit hehe it was a misunderstanding.
Side story 5: tells about Lucia’s ending in the past. Bruh this was my favorite. They were meant to be together hugo and lucia.(past, future and present they were meant to be ) I think this is the chapter that made me tear up a little bit.
Side story 6: what happened to Damien (no lucia)
Side story 7 has different characters. It’s from a very distant past, when magic was still prominent. Probably ancestors (have not read the entire thing yet)
Sorry side story 5 tells about lucia’s ending in the dream not past or whatever. I don’t know what to call Lucia’s thing anymore. A rewind, a rebirth Idk hahahha
Yeah I got all those until I got to Damian part... I think I shed some tears reading, it was like 4am in the morning and I was trying quietly cry in bed I thought it was still like connected to Side Story 4

SO, Damian his son, died in the barbarians territory, which then sparked a war. So why was there no chapter of tears and devestation and the aftermath of it? Then there was situation with Evangeline where she said that her father the Duke married her off for power, which I find not right as the Duke loved his daughter very much, he couldn't see her getting married, he even stopped Jude from coming to visit her. Where is Lucia at this point of time? There was nothing said in the novel about her whether she died or if something happened to her....Plus that situation with Evangeline where she was running away, she was pregnant, I don't know who her husband is, then there was this Cael-nim who I have no idea of, but he named her son Baden and I'm sure it was Count Baden who named her Evangeline...... These were all in the last several chapters of the novel... Please could someone explain.. (〜￣△￣)〜
