can someone please walk me through why y’all believe Jihyun deserves a redemption arc? Like why is it necessary for him to be redeemed? Why can’t he just be a multidimensional bad guy? Even if, which he will, he comes to apologize to Chiwoo for all his wrong doings, I don’t consider that redemption, it’s just common curtesy at this point. As a survivor of sexual assault, I truly pray none of y’all are ever in Chiwoo’s situation cause fiction or not, the way y’all are going about defending Jihyuns every single action is very very concerning.......just clarify, I’m all for Jihyun being cleared for the whole murder thing, but that’s literally it. Nothing else was a misunderstanding

My Starry Sky is the only yaoi manga that’s done a redemption arc right and even the seme wasn’t as bad as Jihyun. Kyujin maybe one dimensional, but so is Jihyun, he’s literally an innately violent person and the writer has shown that to us constantly. Like any abusive relationship yes, there are the great memories and the good parts, but then there’s the violence which is a constant reminder that this person will not change. That is literally the relationship Chiwoo and Jihyun have.....Chiwoo was able to let go of most of the violent shyt Jihyun did because it was never directed at him until it was and as a result, Chiwoo has literal PTSD every time he’s around. It makes no sense for Chiwoo to live his life being with Jihyun and keeping his attention solely because he’s scared of what he might do if he falls for someone or wants to be friends with someone. Violence aside, that is abuse

ALL TRUTH! Chiwoo legit gets war flashbacks whenever he's around Jihyun. I LOVED your comment on Chiwoo having PTSD. That's exactly what he struggles with. The only way for him to get better is for Jihyun to be sent abroad like his brother mentioned. They cannot be around each other.

    I agree,

I wanted like to see redemption arc before this most recent episode, for the sake of, it's fiction and I like happy ending and fluff and I'd like to think people grow. I was in a very abusive situation that was physically violent and emotionally abusive too so I really feel you. I try to see other people opinions and if it was done right I wouldn't hate a redemption. But that's really just me, wishing life could end happy and seeking that in fiction.

It really is concerning some of the comments I see about jihyun and I really worry about others.

(when I say a redemption I hope in using the right word, but because I want it to end happy, it woukd be nice if like dude got a little side chapter a few years after the story where he just like got some help and made progress towards being better as a whole person and admitting his faults. But I dint think he shouid end uo in a relationship anything soon. That's being said, I can be okay with him just being a multi bad guy. Even bad people have feelings and other human qualities doesn't mean they aren't shitty.)

So agree agree I just in my tangent
