I think it's too dialogue-heavy. The author over explains things through dialogue without actually explaining anything in a clear manner. The biggest issue is that the plot relies on everyone to just accept that the Father won't change and they all just have to hope that he stays nice thanks to his newfound affection for Gunchan. Which means nothing they did really changed anything.
The entire plot happened because of Gunchan. Father would not have softened up at all of it not for Gunchan and that sucks for our MCs who are basically left powerless in the story. Their actions mean nothing because Big Daddy could decide "Nah" and undo it.
I think the author likes the Gunchan and Father pairing so much (as do I) that she could not bring herself to do anything too drastic to his character. So nothing was learned. He did not grow. Does not regret. And he and the son he wronged has to basically just accept that he's gonna be under daddy's thumb after all.
Everyone just seems to want the son to move on from his anger because that's easier for them. Sure, the MC pats him on the back and says "I love you", but he also wants him to "work it out". Which really means "move on" like that would be better for everyone.
The reason the story is so confusing is because there isn't really much of a story anymore. The Father won't be punished for his behavior and everyone will essentially live on his terms after all. He could change his mind and snap his fingers and they'd all be screwed.
So where was the story?
MC gets turned into half-vampire by his best friend/ vampire. They fall in love. They meet Big Daddy. Big Daddy wants to... make him a hostage in the kin system or kill him or maybe both? So MC decides to... erm... talk big and then he learns to use his scent to resist Big Daddy. But that really doesn't mean he can fight off Big Daddy. Big Daddy's like, "Whatever. You can run the kin system (thought you'll probably be killed off so this works out. *sic*)". Then Big Daddy works on trying to get his squeeze (Gunchan) into behaving right, but Gunchan is like, "...*eyeroll* You'd kidnap me if I refused so let's do this. And oh, maybe it is love. I'm not sure. Tell me your loooooong life story."
And everyone else is like, "Guess we'll just have to hope Gunchan works his magic and Big Daddy leaves us all the f*** alone."
And that's it.
But I still like the art and the characters. The plot is just very... forgettable.
Man I am really losing interest since this got so plot heavy. Not that I don't like those type of stories I would just rather it be like that from the start
