However this teacher dude is getting on my nerves
Even though the rapist is a rapist, I still think he is less dangerous for the painter than the teacher. That teacher knows what is going on. Pretending he doesn't and then making the painter feel guilty about being raped so he can go back and get his government job, Despicable.
