I think the self doubts and trauma from his past are resurfacing and he doesn’t want to get hurt again, that’s why he prefers sex. It’s a very common angsty trope so it’s easily predictable tbh. Imo I think a lot of readers often assume things from face value and alot of “ukes” get a bad rep, “they’re too slutty,” “bratty,” etc. but it’s obvious he’s jaded from being hurt so much in the past. Reasonably so. Love characters like these tho
