I have faith in you. Please don't give up on your dream.
Because it took a LOT of fighting for me to convince my parents to support my dream of becoming a writer. It took so much of time, but all of it was worth it. Keep trying, and know that I'll be hoping for you to get a breakthrough of some sort!
I relate to this so much, my parents are Asian and they have a high standards when it comes to these things.
I want to be a writer or do anything related to art, but my parents wouldnt allow me and aksed me to be a lawyer or a nurse instead because that’s better and a more suitable job for me. Ughhhhh please let him do what he wants, y’all do what you want too...y’all will probably regret it if you don’t
