Well that sounded a lil condescending.
Each country is different on age of consent just like how they are different for legal drinking/smoking ages. What one country deems an appropriate age is not the same for another. Saying something like "it may not be a big deal for you and your country for adults to date minors, but it is for some others" makes it sound like their country doesn't care about pedophiles or something of the sort and is kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinda rude. They have a legal age by their country's standards-- just like every other country.
I mean, how would you feel if a country with a higher legal age went around calling people in your country pedophiles 'cause the legal age was lower than their's? The difference could be your country being 18 and the other country being 21. That would mean they would consider anyone in your country a pedo if they dated anyone under the age of 21 even tho in your country it's 18.
Just sit on that one for a hot minute.
Is it really that big of a deal that he is 17? I mean look how society is today I don’t really think anyone is going to care. I think they will question his gender more than his age.
