Please read carefully. I am not saying she is against same-sex marriage... My point was about her statement being wrong and I don't like it even more because it's often used for people against same-sex marriage.That's all.
If she had said it to someone who's straight that would have been the same. Her statement is not true, it doesn't depend on who she is speaking with.
Moreover, my whole point is that there is nothing such as "normality" when you speak about family... I know I am being fussy but it's important to me.
Normal means something that respects norms. A norm is a principle about what should be or about what's the most usual. In both case, a family with a mom and a dad is not "normal" because:
- it's not the only form/situation that should be. A kid would be happy if they are loved by their parents. A mom and a dad, two moms, three dads and five moms, NB's... That doesn't have an influence.
- it's not the form/situation the most usual in history and even today. People get divorced, one of the couple dies and the other one stays alone raising kids, grandparents live in the house, two families mix together. A family with a dad, a mom and their kids is not that usual, it's just over-represented.

I really wanted to give Rissa a chance but damn when she said that shit about a family being made of a mother and a father I was ready to punch her.
To detail a lil bit when you have a look at anthropology you get to know that there are a lot of forms of family. A group with a mother and a father is not more natural or better than another form.
So, Rissa's statement is completely wrong and unfortunately it's often used by people against same sex mariage.
PS: I respect everyone's opinion as long as they have good arguments
