they might feel like I'm trying to take the chapter down, but KitKat and I have been working pretty hard on the series ourselves LOL. I'd just finished translating it only to find out it's been updated, possibly without the authorization of the original translation group. anw if the chapter does end up getting taken down, we'll post ours up, no worries

Recently Grape Jelly has been releasing a few chapters of some of their series in order to recruit more translators. For example, their series Our Companionship they've already completely translated and have on their releases server, but they released two chapters onto manga hosting sites with a discord link to a recruitment server.
BTW I don't think it's likely for Grape Jelly to continue releasing any more chapters after this outside their servers with the exception of their sporadic need to recruit more ppl to work on scanlating. Since their discord server is fully private with the only way to get in now is to be a translator, then from my perspective your scanlating group might as well be the only one that exists for this series.
we're also subscribed to our companionship and saw the notice there as well. regardless of the legality of fanlations or whatever, uploading a chapter when someone else is already doing it for their own profit is kind of an asshole move. I know they have all the chapters and want to avoid getting caught with them, but they haven't even communicated with us regarding this. I sent a message with no response. I literally would have let them put a recruitment notice in our version of the update. it's quite frustrating.

Did you communicate with them first when you decided to "pick this series up"? You're basically encouraging the readers to think of the group as the bad guys when it were readers in the first place who ruined their own chances of getting access to the group's discord.
I don't know whether or not they updated 10m boundary. I do know they updated our companionship with their own recruitment notice, and that was the only way I could start communicating with them. it's strange to see someone on the defensive about this when they only have themselves and their server's interests at heart. I'll change my mind about this if or when they respond to my dm.
Why would it be strange? Of course they have theirs and the server's interest at heart because that's how they release their stuff. No one is uploading on mangago probably except for you and other translators who MTL because mangago is the only one with readers tolerating horrible releases as long as they get to see updates just so you know. And it's you keep writing "Please support the author on kakaopage" when you're not even buying your own raws. Did you bother to check this series in Kakaopage? It's not 15+ so anyone with an account can actually access it. You didn't right? Just started whining and shit talking people. :) Oh, don't let me start about your translation. After all, horrible readers deserve horrible quality so yeah. Keep it up.
did grape jelly authorize this chapter being uploaded? iirc they don't let their scans outside of their site/server. if so, I'd like someone from grape jelly to contact me. ^ w ^
