I actually read something similar to this, a deadpool/spidy fanfic on AO3, Peter Parker was adopted and his surname changed from Peter Parker to Peter Tony i think xD and the imprint on Wade was the original name so he didn't figure it out right away. It was a beautiful fanfic

Imagine if someone was adopted when they were a baby and the new parents changed the kids name. Then the imprint on the soulmate wouldn't change but neither of them would know. That'd be interesting
