The only thing thats always a set thing in omegaverses is pheromones and omegas being able to get pregnant, but most stories also have different points about mates for examplr, some write that omega pheromones could still be senses by everyone some say not. There's also webtoons with omegas that still are strong and pheromones just make them horny, their body is still strong, so it has a lot of free ideas the writer can take. And the part of it making men biologically able to have kids, thats true, but a TON of omegaverses do nothing with that child plot, and even females irl can top a man if thats their kink ╮(￣▽￣)╭ I do agree why make it an omegaverse though, since it seems none of the aspects are really used, but its probably just fun to see it flipped lmao
There are basic rules to omegaverse but it depends on the author. Like what the person above me said nothing is set in stone, most omegaverse they submit but it isn't always like that.
my problem isn't the flip, just how it happens. girls in rl can just use a strap on and that's it. but how would he avoid the problem with pheromones? suppressors? suppressors are the only solution i can think of. i just really hope the author explains this somehow or i just can't read it lol.
I guess the pheromones don’t make omegas submissive in this story. Also, when omegas go into heat, they get super horny. Maybe the omega wants to top to fulfill his desires.
I once read a story (but it's mostly raws, so it isn't completely translated yet), where the omega topped the alpha. But what was really interesting about that story, was how the alpha was unconsciously becoming dominant and the omega was unconsciously becoming submissive because of their secondary nature. The omega still ended up topping the alpha, but in that case, they were in a relationship and the alpha was fine with it. They had decided on tying the alpha up, so he wouldn't follow his biology and attack the omega. It was really interesting to see.
So it is possible, but in the case of this story, I'm assuming the author is just taking liberties with the Omegaverse and just putting their own spin to it.
The pheromones are not at play here, maybe the author doesn't use them, or maybe they don't work if the omega is not in heat.
While I don't see this much in manga, a lot of fanfictions are already parting with the notion that omegas can't resist alphas, or finding other ways around it, because of the consent issues it poses in the omegaverse setting.
So maybe this author has the same views as fanfiction writers regarding omegaverse, tho if they did it bc of consent, it's a moot point when they make the characters have drunk sex.
i read the raws and thought orange head would be an alpha or a beta. how does he top as an omega? isn't his pheromones supposed to cause body to weaken? regardless of that, when smelling an alpha's, an omega would lose the strength in their muscles becoming submissive to the alpha, so how does this work? shouldn't an omega topping an alpha just be biologically impossible based on pheromone activity? i don't think being a man or woman has anything to do with it because female alphas would still dominate a male omega right? and don't get mad at me for thinking narrow minded about this because this just the nature of omegaverse. the entire point of this genre is giving males a biological reason to be able to conceive kids. so taking that away, there's literally no point in it. why not just make a normal office romance?
