After a while it just gets to be too much. It's like some of the newers authors only believe that we want the shit...that usually includes abuse or rape. But most of the time we just want a nice agreement party.
And with so many new yaoi all starting off with rape...it becomes sicking and gross. There can be more to a yaoi storyline than molesting and rape.
There are plenty of them out there that are extremely popular simply due to it being consensual sex and characters that have honest love.
This story line is interesting and fun. But i agree...the rape part just threw the story in a direction I slightly hopped it may stray from.
I knew it was going to happen nevertheless but one can hope.
thats exactly how i feel. it just starts to feel like authors are copying and pasting the same storyline. Uke almost gets raped/or is raped, seme comes in to comfort or save him. it just gets tiring. the story was going in such a good direction that it just felt like it screeched to a halt.
Hopefully, it doesnt do the same as other stories, where there are constant people trying to rape the uke, i have seen that done as well.
So true but a lot of yaoi mangaka look at the sales in their respective countries before taking anything globally into consideration for their works. We just want interesting plots without the rapey stuff but it's whatever sells....
sad but true. =( i used to love reading regular romance books, it took a long time for the obligatory rapist, jerk male character to be phased out. Rape was common in romance books. But the male character started changing with the times. Hopefully the same happens with yaoi. Although who knows, people are disliking comments about the almost rape scene, so it looks like some people like rape scenes.
It's very sad when you have to defend why rapey stuff in yaoi bothers you, to other commentators. A few days ago (from this comment) I had a lengthy discussion with a pretty rude commenter (who stated that people should stop commenting on rape in yaoi and just accept it because it's fiction). I obviously disagreed and felt that it's a comments section and people should feel free to express their dislike of the rape trope in yaoi. But hey what can you do, it's a popular trope, even when a lot of us dislike it. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
if anything i depend on the comment section to decide if i want to read a story. i look for comments complaining about rape, abuse, or cheating.
People just like arguing online. Whenever i see someone that becomes that combative i just give up on discussing anything with them. People want so badly to share their opinion that they dont mind stepping on people to do it.
Yeah, I also read the comments section of a new manga before actually reading the content of the manga itself. And I try to not argue but people just don't give up and it does irritate me but not always. (￣∇￣")

.molesting Kouichi. why does every single yaoi have to contain attempted rape or rape? i get that its a fetish, but it gets old. i was enjoying this manga until the wolf is acting like hes going to bite off the main characters penis while he is licking it. makes me want to hurl. and i normally dont mind reading smut, just grossed me out for some reason.
