Okay, so it's cute and all, but am I the only one exasperated about the whole "I'm a homophobe, can't accept my dad but I love and want to have sex with you, who is a guy, but no I'm not gay or bi or pan, I'm very straight"? It's so ridiculous and I truly think the story would be better without that kind of shit.

Def prefer the second couple!

he's a teen boy struggling with accepting his sexuality which is why he's rallied against it. let him explore and take his time to discover his sexuality then He'll be comfortable in his own skin and everything will be solved! that's character development.

it's been 5 volumes and I didn't see any character development ^^" okay, he's a teen, no problem with that, but teens are not that stupid saying "I'm straight but I sleep with guys!" or I am way too optimistic ^^" and it wasn't a reflection just for this title but for too many mangas, sadly.

Well, I do dislike some decisions from the author in this story (for example, the scenes with Kirara and Taro-san make me unconfortable, dunno), but I'm ok with the topic about "homophobic gay" Ken. It's cliche, overused maybe but it's also something that happens a lot in reality, and for me it's not that much of a bullshit, people are complex and have their own inner contradictions. Also, in my interpretation Ken got even bitter during the years because of jealousity, like, blaming Kirara for "turning him gay" and then paying attention mostly to his brother, acting all cute with Kyouichi in front of his very eyes.
As someone who reads the raws (up to 29 now), I can say that yes, there's character development, but a bit slow. The story really felt hellish sssssluuuguiiishh about the misunderstood stuff, but I kinda liked how their post-confession didn't turn everything into heaven. They both need development and I'm always anxious to see Kirara digin' into Ken's heart a little more every new chapter.
And... about the second couple, this one really felt like bullshit since it was TOO rushy and looked like it came from nowhere. It really looked like filler.

[SPOILER(?)] Also, bad news for those who prefer the second couple, it's ch.29 now and they didn't even show up since ch.25, so don't have your hopes up lol

Well, it's not that he is homophoboc that is a problem, I agree with you, a lot of people ar like that because they can't accept they are gay/bi/pan. What I don't like, and maybe I misunderstand, is that Ken is straight, but still wants to fuck a guy because he's cute, that Kirara is an exception, blablabla. That is what bothers me because that is bullshit and it's something that is so present in yaoi stories and it makes no sense at all.
But if it goes "okay, I was a jerk because I couldn't accept that I like men, but I'm trying to be better" then it will be a very good surprise in the land of BL stories!

(aw, such a shame for the second couple :/ you're right, they are too much of a filler and it seemed rush but the relationship has so much to offer in my opinion!)
