You hit the nail on the head - Yona is trying to protect Hak. I believe Hak (who knows Yona best) will understand. Notice Yona said “to tell Hak that I don’t need a special bodyguard” not Hak himself. The only reason Yona immediately for knowing of the kings condition is because she is the “red haired” princess linked with the dragons. If they harmed her, the dragons would know and would rampage, but the dragons do not have the same link with Hak. What “the government” doesn’t understand if the dragons do not get to see and be with the princess soon they may also rampage. The green dragon also knows now that something is off and if he doesn’t realize it now I believe he or the others will realize soon that Yona is trying to protect them.

good point. but they made their position going down. each decision made by an advisor not the king if found out makes them weaker politically. they allowed someone not in higher position of the opposing side dictate how they move making the proposed alliance a hostage situation and making the reputation of king better to the public. personally go Yona for protecting her guardians/family but this still weakened them to those who decide their 'alliance with enemy' and any opposition they might make in the future could possibly ruined them in the eyes of the people not in the know. with those head of the clans/families that supported the king, Yona is just an after thought. her only saving grace her is really about the legend with the guardians (who is deprived of her company).
it does make it exciting how Yona hides the problem and if she can think by herself of getting out of this situation she put herself in. making a rumor public about the king depriving Yona of her guardians is one way to make noise.

main point is tell your guardians something is going on that will jeopardise their non existing alliance even before the other side honor it while making use of them. hiding something from her guardians that supposed to be a death sentence is the one that is very stupid thing Yona did. OR if she can turn it around with trusting her guardian reading her mind that might make her decision okay (I guess). information is important when you are in the enemy's camp.

And she was already told the the four dragons would not be killed if they know the king is dying. Her not telling what is going on, obviously upset, and shooing the green dragon away so he won’t get found is suspicious. If she doesn’t explain herself soon, the dragons will take matters into their own hands. At the same time, Yona is not thinking very clearly at the moment. She just found out that the man who was once one of her best friends and first love turned enemy is dying and dying in such a way that is linked to when they where friends. She needs a bit of time to process.
