I was very surprised by Gaspal and Tristan being gay but damn why does the LGBT community have to be portrayed like that? When there's gay people in straight webtoons they always turn out to be bad smh

Preach! I'm trying to give this webcomic a go, but I don't like it when they villanize them like that... I actually liked Tristan so that might be a problem lol!

Do you have other example of LGBT+ people being used like this ? It's the first time for my to read something like this. I like the fact that they are not angel like in most other thing I read because LGBT+ are human and sometime bad people, that has nothing to do with who they love.

This is the dumbest comment I've ever seen, lgbtq+ or not, being the bad guy has absolutely NOTHING to do with sexuality, it's about someone's character.

Just because they are gay, does that not mean they can't act cruelly? What gives them the right to be excluded from bad acts? Why? Because they're "shunned" and looked down upon? Because they already deal with enough shit of their own?

Well guess what, sexuality does not excuse one's actions.. believe it or not, just because you're gay that doesn't mean you automatically don't commit bad deeds.

This is the first time I've ever seen a lgbt character being portrayed as bad anyways, and the reason for that is exactly because of comments like these. People complain when they make gay characters the bad guy, as if every gay person would never behave in a rude/bad way.

Are you trying to say that only hetero characters should be perceived and displayed as bad guys? Does that not portray everyone who is STRAIGHT in a bad light? Just because they are gay, they can't be villains? The hypocrisy makes me laugh.

    Fucking pisses me off

This is NOT portraying lgbt people in a bad way, it is showing us the bad acts they are committing within this webtoon. Sexuality does not play a part in anything. Just because you suddenly make Tristan a girl, there is no difference in the things they've done. Sexuality does not excuse someone's character/behaviour.

Gay people can also be villains, just because someone’s gay doesn’t mean they’re inherently good

Are you part of the LGBTQ+? I never said being gay excuses their behaviour's and that gay people can't be bad. I'm saying that gay people have zero representation in mangas/manhwa that aren't yaoi or yuri, and when there's a gay character they're either the weird one or the extravagant comic relief, never a serious character.

When I said bad I meant bad characterization, whenever there's a gay character in straight works they're mostly used as cosmic relief (raeliana, one punch man), as traps whom people don't respect even if they're trans, they like the main character or another character but never have a happy ending (darling in the franxx, boku ni natta watashi), in HxH Hisoka is a rapist gay. It's not that gay people can't be bad, it's just that whenever I try to think about good lgbt representation in straight animes there's just a few that come to my mind

Where in your comment did you ever mention anything about gay people having zero representation in hetero manga/manhwa. You asked, "damn why does the gay community have to be portrayed like that" which basically implied that because the character was gay, they should be the good guy. Gay characters are hardly EVER portrayed to be the bad guys. This is actually the first time I've seen anything like this.

It would have been a different matter if you had originally stated what you just mentioned-- that they are usually shown as "weird" instead of "bad". I don't know about you but most of the gay people I've met tend to be pretty quirky and upbeat/life of the party so I'd say the representation is not that far off. It's also more entertaining to watch someone who's cheerful then serious and stern all the time.

Also, the real question should be WHY do hetero manga/manhwa need to have the lgbtq+ involved when it has nothing to do with the plot? Unless it's main focus (plot wise) is about lgbtq representation/society prejudice then it'd hardly be shown up because it has nothing to do with the plot.

And lastly, what does the me being in the lgbtq or not have to do with anything? If I was straight would that change anything I just said? And if I was gay, would that make any difference? I'm assuming you think I'm straight thus creating the thought, "Of course you don't get it, you aren't even gay."

I'm asexual. I'm not particularly biased towards any sides, I'm speaking my thoughts on what you've said. Even if I asked my gay friends, they don't give much thought to it when they see a gay character portrayed as "evil" in any form of entertainment (which hardly even happens).

Perhaps you're just being too sensitive.

Your interpretation is bad, I never even thought that "just because he's gay he needs to be good" so stop putting words in my mouth lol. Representation is necessary because lgbt exist, in a random group of 10 people at least 1 will not be straight, also yes if you were straight i'd say you don't understand because it's true. And perhaps you're the sensitive one, making big texts about something that doesn't even change your life. That being said, I'll not answer you any further, hope you understand :)
