Roel

Okay but Roel has mentioned a few times now that he originally was a woman! I really want to know what he means by that and the story.(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I love them and even if it might be a cheap way of making it a hetero pairing i dont care anyone. The characters make the message of loving someone despite such silly things very apparent (=・ω・=)

It means that she was originally a cis woman, even as a holy knight. Her being a man was a lie spread so she wouldn't be pressured to marry and settle down, as woman are. She was basically undercover, although some knights seem to have known, and some of them still joke about her being a man because of how unladylike her lifestyle made her. I think this was explained in the first few chapters?

It was also addressed in the first couple of chapters that Roel was a girl who was just super masculine looking

no i don't think it had to do with undercover she was just masculine looking, and she never went out of her way to say she was a woman

Though her being a woman seems to have been common knowledge since in the latest chapter Sieg remembers being called by other knights to deal with Roel because she was in the men's changing room (which is a problem since Roel is a woman)

Role has always been a woman. She was never a man, but had very masculine features. That is why when anyone ever mentions her as a him, or makes a comment of how she looks like a lady now she tells them she was always a woman and never a man.

I see! I might have to reread the beggining because i didnt catch any of that there :d But yes in the latest chapters it is very apparent

I don't think it was common knowledge, all her admirer-ladies definitely didn't seem to be aware, but I didn't think she kept all her knights in the dark either. They can't have a woman changing in the same room as men no matter how masculine she looks and acts, so the other knights had to have been made aware. But I was definitely left with the impression that not only is it not widely known that Roel was a woman, but also she and the church encouraged the misconception.
Even just logically, there's no other way that someone like Roel, who keeps reminding her knights she's a woman every time they tease her, and is such a sincere person in general, would have let a rumour like that spread unless it was for a purpose.

Yes exactly! Im also guessing from the times she said “I never said i wasnt a woman” that she just didnt comment on it in the past ? But now since its in the air and how she changed theres not much point in keepin up that facade
