Ok but in those days women didn’t have rights and would often get abused by their spouses in arranged marriage
why are u talking as if women aren't abused in arranged marriage now-a-days even though they have rights and a huge amount of dowry is given to the bride groom family?

Please mind ur words......u r the one who talked about the abuse. I only worded my opinion about the dowry the girl family has to give. To give that dowry they have to sellout everything in todays world. So if in those days the bride family is getting the money its a good thing is what I said.
U talked about the abuse in those days and I said in these days also even if huge amount of dowry is given to the bride groom still they are abusing not only the girl but also the girl's family for more dowry.

wow......so in those days the bride family would get good enough money from the bridegroom! That's seriously a good thing because at present the bride family has to sell everything to give dowry to the bridegroom which is deadly....... ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
