Wait! Lmao she was reincarnated?
Oh shit! Wait! No seriously! I forgot that detail
I know deep down she is a reincarnated person, while Susan was a person who was sent? Or summoned? There. But they don't give enough emphasis on "reincarnated" that I completely forgot ..
Oof
The only importance of her reincarnation is that she knows who Susan is
And she was a designer?
Oh God!! All these facts about her completely skipped my mind as the story just revolved about getting rid of one, ONE "villainess! That doesn't even deserve the title!! And a maid with an unstable mental state and delusion....
Tbh, her acting all bitchy to the duke because of something she told the duke to do, ya know, " to raise less suspicion act kind" ? Was kinda annoying
But I guess I still like her character, since she doesn't really take shit from anyone
But no one tops the mc in "may I ask for one final thing"
I absolutely love her

Oh no Now that I remembered that her only reason for reincarnation was that she *has heard* - not even knew!!- about Susan, my impressions of her dropped even further!
I would have been okay with not taking shit from anyone but she is acting so important nearly arrogant that it pisses me off - like lady Yulia also doesn't take shit from anyone but is likeable. I've read too many isekais that fake perfect heroines are gonna make me rage

Same over here what started as sincerly (and a bit naïvely) wanting to help the duke without any extra intentions was so pure and enjoyable. Now Adele is constantly sheming even whitout the dukes knowledge and I think that makes it even worse. Her reïncarnation-plot is (or was) full of potential but isn't correctly used so it doesn't do itself any justice
Warning! Long rant ahead, if you want to read it, please bear with me <3
Adele was great in the last one where she is determined to live whether or not she has a man. That is the attitude I respect and the healthy thinking she has kept from her previous life.
However, ever since she started to scheme in order to catch that crazy psycho maid, up until now, I disliked her attitude so much. Didn't Felix act on Adele's instruction so he tried his best to smile? And then Adele went crazy jealous?? Over what?? I still cannot get over how irrational she was when she believes herself to be so rational and smart. Then, her just asking him if he loves her and cutting him off 3 times (might have been less, might have been more, but definitely didnt happen only once) was ridiculous. Are you giving him time or are you pressuring him for an answer? Choose one. She is a woman full of contradictions, not meant as a compliment.
Also, at this point, her being reincarnated/transmigrated only gives her her "I'm not from this period, hence, I am different from the other girls around me" halo, it's not even relevant to the plot. Why was it even mentioned that she is a designer except for the one part she made her own shoes (side note, if anyone knows of cute comfy high heels, please do tell me <3 ).
Finally, the thing that bugged me the most. Adele perceives herself as very smart so how the f did it take so long with Susan to resolve?? Going a little bit deeper, I highly highly doubt Susan and Adele would have been better at scheming than a duke and the royalty. One was an actress and one a designer (who just finished school?). Both died early. I am not doubting their intelligence, but I am sure scheming needs some family wisdom or experience, which neither Susan nor Adele have. People from the olden days were not dumb. Surely not all of them were smart but most of those who manage to keep real power had to be bright. Just because you happened to be born in the 21st century doesn't make you smarter.
Usually the heroines know the story beforehand so they can scheme quite well/avoid bad situations - which is not the case here. And if anything - how was the one who survived in the cut-throat world of showbusiness for quite some time not better at scheming? Feels like the author is trying to make Adele into a Mary Sue and Susan into a cannon fodder - other than being dumb to make the two main characters closer, she has no real purpose and no chance.
I loved the beginning and the build up. Later chapters have unfortunately not lived up to the initial hype for me.
I know this a fantasy and not a historically accurate story, but still!! My standards for historical fantasy and characters with consistent personality and actions have risen so much I just cannot take this lying down!
Why am I still reading if I am so dissatisfied, you wonder? Easy. I have read too much to drop it and I am still a little bit optimistic so hope it will get better. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
