Are we reading the same manga? Did you not see him taking good care of the cat? He didn’t unload any anger towards the cat and grew to love it. His mother literally mentally abused him his whole life and he’s trying to atone because he couldn’t save that one cat. It wasn’t his fault, it was his abusive mom said it was his fault and that he shouldnt have kept it, she had to kill it because of him, etc. The author obviously wanted to make it look like he was that cat killer to cause a misunderstanding when in fact he was trying to save them.

Um..... dude...... no..... yes at the beginning the author made it seem like he was the cat killer..... but in this chapter it clearly showed how his mom was a fucking psychopath that wouldn't let her son go she made him feel like he was bad and useless just so he will never leave her side she was manipulative and when he finally found something else he took care of that cat secretly he freaking loved that cat..... but the manga showed how the mom once again tried controlling him.... she killed the cat because she is the only thing her son should pay attention to ...... and she told him it was his fault .... like bitch no you killed it yourself now you gonna play the victim so you can guilt trip your son...... like literally the friend said that she would abuse him physically and we saw that she abused him mentally as well..... yes he's fucked up but not in the sense were he would harm animals he only want to protect them because his mom made him think he that it was actually his fault the cat die..... when all he wanted and did was love and care for it........

I kind of didn't understand why he would go so far for cats, at first I thought that it was anger that he put on cats instead of the mom and then it became a habit, but based on the comments I'm guessing hes just a normal person who loves cats but his mom is the one who's stopping him, aight I understand hahaha
