Writing full time as an authour or illustrator takes a lot of time.. A LOT. I think it would be crazy to try and do both more than once.
I get that. But then he's depending on his partner to pay everything until he actually starts making money. Some people spend years trying to get published. The risk seems too great.
I don’t think his partner minds at all that atm he’s not earning. He wants to support Sunny. Also sunny looks like the type of character that probably saved money.
Because he took the leap of faith and decided to make a decision for himself for once instead of having someone make it for him. I'm sure he has money saved up and he has his boyfriend there to support him.

His job as a teacher? He clearly likes it and he hasn't even finished his first book. It'll be a while before writing will make him steady income. Why quit a job that's steady?
