    Not everyone is Korean just a lot of them hang out together

    When international students come to a school in a foreign country, they stick around people they can relate to aka the Koreans hang out with other Koreans. At least thats how it is at my uni.

    In my case it's usually only at hangout but when study we mingles...
    Actually i still don't really get why the setting has to be in the US, since at this point, rather than the occasional english by Taehee, the fact that this is in the US doesn't really give much perspective to the plot..if taehee was a returnee student from overseas, taehwan go serving military, and MC become roommate with taehee also bring similar outcome...or is there some details I missed here?
    But maybe the author is staying in the US or studied there

    Good point! I dont think you missed anything to be honest, I dont think there is much of a reason for the school to be in the US. Maybe you're right about the author studying internationally ... hmmm
    Also Im not Korean (or Asian for that matter), but I live/go to school in Toronto and theres a very high number of east asian international students. Thats just the culture I see between the international students at my university I guess. Could be different in the states
