Why can’t they portrait a healthy gay relationship in shojo is what I’ll never understand. It’s like in yaoi all girls are scum and in shojo’s all gays are ULTIMATE SCUM

I dunno any shoujo that show all gays are scum, except for this brother. Any titles I need to look out for?

I forgot to mention— the problem isn’t with the “unhealthy gay relationship”. The other guys seem alright, like the new friend, the father, and his consort/‘wife’. It’s just the brother that’s the issue here. Being gay doesn’t automatically make you a saint. You can still be a bad person regardless of your sexual preference. :v

Maybe save that energy for the perpetual denigration of female characters in most mangas ┗( T﹏T )┛ There's a reason all the bad ass characters are praised into Oblivion, they're far and few in between.

I see I came out too strong, I didn’t mean to generalise because yes I’ve read a lot of yaoi with good portraits of women, girls and wife’s but I’m saying that I’m sick of stereotypes, and you find A LOT of stereotypes in mangas that are marked like “shoujo” or “yaoi”, just like The Duchess with an empty soul. I obviously know that being gay or etero doesn’t define you as a bad or good person, I’m not some sick fujoshi ;)

Yeah i’m talking about that too. Girls in mangas that are attacked just for liking a boy, that casually is interested in another boy. It’s a stereotype often used to make audience and it’s a shame
