That's why he sent the messages out. He'd help when they requested it. He doesn't want to have the world know how powerful he truly is, the world is filled with hungry wild beasts and he wouldn't know who'd go for him first and pin him down in a sense. If he had taken care of it when he first saw them it wouldn't have gotten that big, but now that it's so large he would be known as all powerful and be watched by more than just the system.
no, he helped them by providing information and would even assist them if they needed to. he's just being careful and wise on how he would use his abilities. and with the benefits part, in all honesty, he was disrespected by a representative of that country. any other person wouldn't even dare to do what he's done but he helped them in a way that he thinks is right to help them. besides, he does not share a bond with them except being equal human beings. so it's not right to expect him to risk a lot of things: his life, his cards and his identity (to enemies) right away. him providing information is already commendable

Basic human nature, humans fears strength like they fear darkness because it's unknown, anything they can't control they fear like how they fear many other things, so something this powerful he have to reveal so much of his power which he is worried could be used against him later.
I understand cause people betray and even to adapt in our world we have to hide many parts of who we are even if it's just sexuality imagine someone with such power people will fear and try whatever for example in the story here when the family that said control governments from shadows couldnt strike a deal with him may try to kill him, so yeah side from ones he likes why should he worry about a world that will try to use him no matter what for their own gain so even i hate greed but it's natural to try to have profit in order so he can use it to increase his power to protect ones he cares for, isn't that very natural?
So he wont be envolved unless he gets benifits? （￣へ￣）
