ya i understand that tbh, but i think taekyung is coming from a place of insecurity-- nothing has ever gone his way and heejae is too good to be true, so he finds it easier to accept that heejae's love was a farce all along as opposed to maybe questioning the story being concocted

I could understand his High School self falling for it, but he is grown up. He still doesn't think "Hmm... maybe something shady went down". That brother sure is a jerk and didn't like us together. But nope.
I feel like he's gonna rethink it now that he sees other evidence, like the continued abuse from Heejae's brother and how Heejae doesn't seem to remember anything, but it's possible that Taekyung just kept on finding evidence in hindsight up until now because he kinda believed it
