I think he's not actually bad. First of all, he doesn't treat his allies with cruelty or malice. Sure, he a not talkative nor all smiles, but he act decently enough and with dignity as someone in power. I think a big thing to keep in mind is that people in power can start abusing their power (think about the political figures in our world, and church/showbiz scandals), but he doesn't seem to be using his position of power in any unsavory way.

As for the problem of slavery, it's what's set as the norm in that particular society. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ A lot of people go along with and agree with what their society defines as 'normal', and it isn't until they have some eye opening experiences that their world view changes. Maybe Chloe is the one who will change is world view? We'll have to wait and see.

are you saying that because it is a societal norm it is okay to own another human life and have them equate to livestock? You must be white. And anyone else that thumbed this down must be white too. He’s not even an individual that can’t do anything about the state of his country.(even tho I believe everyone has a part to play in changing the world) He is someone that is in a position of power, so nah he’s a little shit.

Lol, this is the first time I've ever been acused of being white (I'm not white - how did you get to that conclusion?). I don't think it's ok to own people even if society says so.

I think it's fine to read a story which involves slavery and enjoy the story, even if you do not condone slavery. After all lots of people read murder mysteries even if they don't condone murders.

About changing the slavery system: there may or may not be future developments in the story about this. Who knows? Maybe there are political reasons for not doing anything? Maybe he's been too indoctrinated about how slavery is 'normal'? Maybe no one arounds him cares about this problem either? Maybe the female lead will change the male lead's views? Lots of shitty characters undergo good changes as their stories progress. Maybe it'll take time.
