(all of this will be revealed in like the next 5 chapters so I'm not spoiling how it will end or anything)
Zod fights the demon for a bit and then Desir tells him to hand over his remaining power. (this is after they fail to capture the crow mask dude) And he tells pricilla to start continuously healing him. By combined efforts and basically being destroyed, Desir defeats the demon. It cuts to 2 weeks later when he wakes up in the hospital. Everyone celebrates his recovery but with a couple hiccups. First, he lost the sight in his left eye. Which considering the fact that they rebuilt him from goo it is a miracle that's the only damage he has. Then, Zod tells everyone to leave. He then interrogates Desir because he knows something is off. Desir seriously considers telling Zod that he returned from the future, but ultimately decides that it's too risky. So he remains silent. Zod admits that before he would've taken action against Desir but his sacrifice to defeat the demon earned his trust, at least for a little while.
The results of the demon attack and Desir's single handed defeat of it (that's how it was reported) make Desir internationally famous and make the conference a success. The western kingdoms now trust that the Empire (where Desir lives) will actually help them defeat the outsiders. It is also revealed how the outsiders get their start and that Desir is preparing a bunch of stuff in the shadows for the future.
