this story fascinates me...

Insanity clearly runs in Sangwoos blood. Was he made to be a murderer, or was it just a matter of time before he lost it? Similar to his father losing it and abusing his wife. When he used to seem so normal. I read online a criminals mind is different from a regular persons. Is Sangwoo capable of human emotion or empathy? Was it all an act to pretend he is normal? Trying to emulate what a normal relationship is with Bum. Or even just trying to relive the relationship he had with his mom.

This story reminds me of Ted Bundy. He had the GF that he either loved, or used as a shield of "normalcy" to hide in society, he showed kindness to her and her daughter (not related to him). So a deranged serial killer can be charming and make you believe he loves you.

It would be interesting to see into the mind of a killer and see if there is any emotion in their hearts, or if there is nothing but rage.

The author did a good job of creating empathy for the characters, even though you knew they were both monsters. This is the same effect Ted Bundy had, people loved him until the end, even knowing what he was.

I don't know where u got this information, but a criminal's mind is not different from a "regular" person's mind. There are cases of mental illnesses like sociopathy or psychopathy that accounts for the people's lack of empathy and therefore ease in which they kill people, but certainly not all killers lack empathy and emotions and love. It depends, like it does with every person's behaviour. There are a lot of examples of killers with a guilty conscience that has driven them to suicide, drugs or destructive behaviour. Actually, killers with no emotions and guilt are the rarest of the bunch. Opinions about sangwoo vary, I personally believe he developed sociopathy since the symptoms fit, and I also think he showed emotions multiple times.

it takes a second to google brain scans of a serial killer.

also, someone that kills once and regrets it, isnt the same as a serial killer. Someone that continually kills the way that sangwoo did.

a serial killer can "show emotions" while feeling nothing. they are incredibly intelligent and manipulative.

You're right about most murderers being completely normal people. They're driven by their emotions to commit murder; most of the time being jealousy, or a need for vengeance.
Most sociopaths and psychopaths would not commit murder if they were not absolutely certain that they would get away with it uncaught. They are logical beings, not pushed by emotions toward others.

Sangwoo is either a media romanticisation of a psychopath, or just mentally ill to the point of doing all that.

Pls check ur facts before advising me to "google" anything as if doing that would ensure it's accuracy. As I've said before there is not enough evidence to prove the brain of a serial killer differentiates from that of a regular person's. Also, stating that a serial killer is incredibly intelligent and manipulative is just assuming without knowing. It depends kn whether they have a certain psychiatric disorder etc.

Do u believe he could have developed sociopathy tho? I mean, that's my theory and since we agree on the main points I would like your opinion. He had traumas that could have made him develop it, and he was cautious about his killings. He destroyed the evidence and calmly worked through the process. We also saw glimpses of emotion and regret. He was manipulative and charming. I wouldn't say he could have developed psychopathology since we can see cracks of emotion. Why did u exclude that option tho?
