I think he just doesn't want to make the same mistake of letting her go and pursue another man without doing anything himself. He did that at the beginning, but now Vio has changed.
If he had the same memories as her, I doubt he's gonna be nice to the Prince, the half-sister, Vio's father and the mistress. He'll utterly destroy them.
