Wonyoung was already afraid of how the boss would react when he found out since they became friends. Now that they are more than friends he has more to lose. That means it is easier to threaten and manipulate him.
I feel like Manager Jung is just planning on using Wonyoung. He has been promising to get Wonyoung the job back, but I bet he was planning on using the information himself and keeping it secret that Wonyoung did everything. Especially since he has been making Wonyoung keep everything under wraps and being his only point of contact for this supposedly important mission.
