She was also young and "brainwashed" by the church. Daath had no chance to defend himself because she was told "everything she needed to hear" before he arrived to take her. They were told things would change when they experienced their heat so it would have been easy to twist things to have her think she was being abandoned.
And with all the time that has passed, she has had time to reflect on her actions. She wants to see him as much as he does her, if only to confirm what happened that day.
