I agree, but I don't think the ending was cliché. In many yaois we had seen the typical story of: "toxic relationship that in the end the mc goes with his abuser bc he loves him uwu"
But that's only in yaois where they romanticize abuse and abusers. In this case, none of that is really romanticized, it shows how can that hurt a person and drive them crazy.
I don't think that it's thaaaat common for this type of stories end like this.
I think the manga was really well planned, including the end ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Ok so i........... I liked it....... Yeah, i did. But the end is just.... Ahhhhhh i mean i get it, they are both not ok i get it but i also dont. I was such a huge shift, he hated him till the end but than not....? Agh i just wish, with all my heart, in one yaoi, just one yaoi, the victom would not end up with his abuser. Sp yeah its really bringing the story down for me, it really is.
Other aspects i didnt like were minor and i couldve avoid them if the endong didnt already brought ot down for me, are the parents. Both of them for different reasons. I didnt like the end of the mother's arc, and this is not really this manga's fault, i just read another story not to long ago where the mother died near the end of the story for the characters to reach some emotional climax and it feels kinda cheap. And the father was just never around. His wife notice something was wrong with his son and not him and thats all i will say. He also didnt really seem to care about hos son's suicide attempt.
I think the other characters were handled pretty well, haruki's reactions felt realistic, and the psychological aspect was really interesting. BUT THE ENDING WAS JUST SO CLICHE. I thought the senpai was very interesting and i didnt hate him even tho hes not the best person. And hikaru... Well he was a good villain, but when he is not a villain thats when the story lose me...
Overall o think it is still better than about 80% of its ganre, and worth a read of you like this stuff
