Maybe it was his way to control the urge to sock her and thus having her leave out of being scared of him?
i don't think he was rude he was being himself because back then she was special but still a employee and i personally considered it as its best part as that was why she was so competent because he treated her no different.

So.. I really loved this.. but.. Why the heck was he so rude to her for those 9 years then! And then suddenly it was like that never happened and the flashbacks were him being nice half the time? Cause he was definitely being a meanie when the story started lol. Idk..
Also the dads were so cute lmao... and the kids.. adorable..
