Yeah, the projection feels so real here. His current advice, if taken, would only strengthen the lie and pull the boys further apart into misunderstanding. Da Ye is too darn naive for his own good here.
That’s gonna be one hell of a plot twist haha but based on his supportive attitude before, I don’t think that’s the reason.
That senior friend of Da Ye was sharp before (pushing Da Ye to admit his feeling for Toffee), but he has been giving bad advices recently. It got me thinking that those might be advices (excuses) he wants to give himself. Some chapter earlier he mentioned that he knows the feeling when you suddenly realise how adorable someone is and you can’t help but being attracted. He may have sensed his feeling towards the junior and is simply trying to justifying it by making excuse and accidentally projecting them onto Da Ye.
