I’m assuming that he got affected by a negative/ evil spell which made him forget her and have negative feelings towards her after he saved her from her powers going haywire when she wore that ribbon present from Margarita (the one that was tampered with by his brother) yet he’s one stubborn dodo bird and his memories of Athy are slowly popping up so that makes him uncomfortable since he’s no longer in control and unsure of what’s happening.
