He's not Ren's relative, he is Uncle Tiger's though (I just made a clarifying post about who he is) - I also do think he's the guy FROM Ren's backstory (the jerkweed who was insulting him for being Japanese and who he was chasing when his friend died trying to stop him). So I think this will spur on a lot of Ren flashbacks.

So Ren had "something else to tell her" - meaning he wanted to also confess that he was her childhood friend. Then a dude (that's probably Ren's relative) who looks just like that childhood friend just popped up, she's gonna mix them up, and we're gonna get so many more chapters where they still haven't figured out their relationship and that they want to be together. Eventually she's gonna end up choosing Ren anyway with our without knowing he's her childhood friend.
I'm still waiting on Ren's backstory - we got hints that it wasn't easy and that he might have ended up doing something bad or criminal, but I'm sure it's all misunderstanding - we got so many chapters that felt like fillers to me that i'm really hoping mangaka-sama starts revving things up into second gear.
