Not exactly. My first anime yaoi was that shitshow of rape called Enzai (con accident BC I didnt know the plot ans because I'm a proud shit who wanted to prove her best friend wrong, lol) and I didn't got a trauma over the whole genre.

Yes, but everyone is different ig. And honestly i got into yaoi when i was 11 like thas pretty young and ive seen kids as young as that read yaoi too. Buh i read something very triggering at that age and i stopped reading for a while then i tried again and now i love it!
