I think they basically reproduced a rape scene from a serial raper or something as porn, so Ryan starring in that probably tarnished his reputation, and maybe messed him up a bit mentally.

There are actual scandals about how sometimes film directors pushed it too far for the purpose of producing “genuine” acting. My guess is that they may have reproduced the scenes too realistic that Ryan got actually scared and wanted out, but he wasn’t let go. That’s what he meant by “being raped through porn”?
