Absolutely true! It's pretty stupid that she asks such a question as "do you really hate me?" It's obvious he would when he's been treated so terribly. But just like every other story with a man who always held the reins for a while until both of them fell in love, I hope that in this story as well, they push past their differences and get to a more equal position in their relationship.
Deciding on her own and moving at her own will basically making the duke as her pawn. How would u feel if u got used as a tool to stop the other's calamities and putting the blame all on you? The duke is a bastard son, doesn't have a good reputation and his partner was the fiance of his father the kibg ofc the kibg would feel shit to the son and want to kill him more the pressure is what he can't handle and the possible threats nor inga dares to play the victim showing innocemce and dares gather pity. The duke's life was ruined while she gets to avoid marriage with the king and play innocent with the duke. Looking at the orchestra? Bruh no one cares abt ur past love life none of that is gonna help the duke's burden lighter. Being snatched away from you r ever so comfortable life in a flash doesn't sound good to me. The processing of the situation takes time no wonder the duke is stressed out.
